H Class Vacuum Cleaner For Asbestos
H Class Vacuum cleaners, (dust extractors) are specifically designed to remove very fine dust particles. Type h vacuums are essential when removing asbestos materials. Fibres from asbestos range from 0.1 to 10 µm in length and are not visible by the human eye.
Asbestos materials, (ceiling tiles, insulation, cement, flooring, etc), may become dangerous when disturbed. Asbestos fibres in the air can put individuals at risk of exposure. It is vital that the correct PPE equipment and H Class extraction systems are used when removing asbestos.
Vacuum Cleaners Dust Ratings
All vacuum cleaners are rated based on their extraction systems and filters. L stands for coarse dust, most domestic vacuum cleaners have an L rating. For this reason you should never use a domestic vacuum cleaner to hoover up asbestos dust, (fibres).
Vacuum extractors with an M rating are mostly used by contractors, (painters, joiners, builders). M class vacuums are excellent at removing dust from metal, wood, concrete, and paint. I personally own a Mirka 1230 M Class Dust Extractor, that I use when sanding.
H class vacuums are designed for very fine dust particles, that if inhaled could result in mesothelioma, a type of cancer. These type of vacuums are used for carcinogenic substances, asbestos fibres, lead dust and mold spores. The HEPA air filters on an H class vacuum are more effective than the filters on L and M Class extractors and collect 99.99% of the dust passing through them.

H Class Vacuum Hire
Where asbestos dust has already settled after removal, hiring an H Class Vacuum allows for the safe removal of the remaining asbestos fibres with causing harm to the user. Never use a brush or domestic vacuum cleaner in an attempt to remove the remaining particles of asbestos. Always wear an asbestos respirator at all times, even when operating the dust extractor.
H vacuums are often mandated by hseni (Health and Safety Executive Norther Ireland, for asbestos removal.
